Cannot update WD_BLACK SN750 SE NVMe SSD WDS100T1B0E

Bought few years ago WD_BLACK SN750 SE NVMe SSD WDS100T1B0E
I have successfully updated the firmware back then.

Now wanted to update again. It is not possible because a meaningless error constantly appears during the attempt (an error has occurred etc.).
Creating a USB boot drive is also not possible.

Selecting the file manually is also not possible because SanDisk/Western Digital is so customer-friendly and does not offer the firmware files or changelogs anywhere.

Actual version: 711250WD
New version: 711130WD

Windows 10

And now? I’ve already been annoyed by WesternDigital’s ignorance of Linux users recently, but now this.

To resolve your issue, first, ensure you’re using the latest WD Dashboard (run as admin) and have a stable internet connection while temporarily disabling antivirus/firewall. If the update still fails, try using a different Windows 10/11 PC. For bootable USB issues, use a different USB (FAT32 formatted) and create it with Rufus (FreeDOS mode). Since WD doesn’t provide direct firmware files, you may need to contact WD Support for assistance.

Hello,
it is clearly a Western Digital/SanDisk problem as you can see from the dashboard log:

Here is a short excerpt from the log. As you can see, WesternDigital Server rejects connection. Incidentally, many Western Digital customers have had this recently:

Yesterday I had to experience how absolutely inadequate the support is.
Not only that there is a confusion between Western Digital and SanDisk, but that I described a problem with a firmware update and was told that I wanted to update the warranty.

There is no problem with warranty. The warranty still exists (5 years).
It seems that Western Digital has outsourced the support of the SanDisk sector, while Western Digital still has it.

So I’m slowly coming to the conclusion that I’d rather buy HDDs and SSDs from the competition in future. Which I already did with my last SSDs when I realized how Linux-hostile Western Digital is.

Next day, next answer from WD/SanDisk.
The problem with the firmware and that WD/SanDisk server refuses to allow to download firmware is completely ignored and they continue to tell me some garbage about warranty.

It’s insane… It’s as if you were writing with an bad AI.

Edit: Seems like they fixed it finally.

I have found WD dashboard can fix most firmware problems
