Firmware Updater Question

This last thing you suggested worked!!

Did I need to lock it before holding the button when I connected?   Well, I guess I’ll find out

next time I load or delete files.

I don’t understand why I had to go through all the changes but I’m happy I am now able to connect

with the computer.

Maybe you can explain why all this was necessary?

Before I tried this last thing you suggested, when I’d connect it would not show an icon in the lower

part of my screen although it would make that beep when connecting.   Also when I went to ‘my computer’

the icon there was a picture of the Clip and after doing as you suggested it was the hard drive icon again.

Something weird about that.   Hope you can understand what I’m trying to relate here.

Feed back on this would be welcome as I’d like to just be able to connect it in the future without all the

changes I had to go through this time.

Len

When you get done reloading, go to the settings menu and then change the USB mode to MSC, then reconnect and see if you get the same results. If you do then you wont need to force it into MSC.

Milkerman, thank you for your help.   At least now I  have some more knowledge of things to do

should this happen again.

Conversionbox, I did as you suggested and then retried to connect and it did reconnect without issue.

When I looked it was set on ‘Auto-connect’, btw.   Just mentioning that for you guy for future reference.

I will leave it on MSC with the hope that the problem is now rectified.

Thanks guys.

Len

Using MSC mode ensures direct access to the Sansa as a flash drive.  Sounds like you may have been using MTP mode (Auto Detect will first try MTP) when the connection was lost.

MTP is part of Windows Media Player 10 and 11, incidentally; the “driver” is integrated into the player, giving secure wma capabilities, whether or not you actually “use” the player interface.
