Firmware Update

I’ll be using the Clip+ with Linux.  With the Fuze and original clip, it’s possible to do the upgrade by downloading the file manually and lpacing it on the device.

  • Will this be possible with the Clip+?

  • If so, where can the latest latest firmware be found?

Thanks!

Yes the manual firmware update process will be the same as the Clip or Fuze. The most current Clip+ Firmware is 01.01.05.

Are the Slotmusic and Slotradio To Go players capable of receiving a firmware update? I imagine that they might be, if they were designed to update the firmware when they see a firmware file in the root directory of a card inserted in the player.

Thanks!  Could we get a link to the current firmware stickied?

the clip+ was just released… i will not expect any update for it at this time

When a firmware update is released, there will be a “sticky” topic at the top of the board titled “Sansa Clip+ Firmware Update” (or something very similar) posted by the site staff.

As of yet, there is no firmware upgrade for the Clip+.

i downloaded the lates firmware, copied the .bin file to the root directory, but the unit will just ignore the file. current version is 01.01.05a, latest version is 01.01.30 i believe. please help.

There is no update for the Clip+ yet. You probably downloaded the latest firmware for the Clip (01.01.32). It’s not compatible with the Clip+.

At least can we receive some estimated time remaining for the next firmware, or should we wait till summer?

Sandisk tend not to give ETAs anymore.  Just keep waiting.
