Hi all, I just got my WD My Passport Ultra external hard disk. However due to some problems i would like to reset it like first i got it. I mean when I first connect it to my computer using usb port it will ask to install some software (which i forgot). Now i just can use it like a normal pendrive. How can I factory reset it? Thanks.
There’s nothing on the drive that can be reset. If you want to format it, you can do that, too.
But as far as the software it installed, you’d need to uninstall it from your computer.
i already format it but can anyone tell me what is the installer that come with the drive in the factory setting and where can i get it? as i want to install it on my new laptop to ease my use of the drive.
Find your drive on the WD site then look in downloads any software included with drive should be there.
