Extremely bad read performance

Hi,

I just observed (wondering about bad system performance) that the component to blame is the Sandisk SSD (4 TB version), which I use as external SSD in a suited housing, supporting USB 3.2 - so enough speed that the housing should be ok, the cable is too (Sandisk SSD tool also says everything is ok, speed to 6 GB/s is supported via the connection). I could also swear everything was faster a few weeks ago, but now…

But running the Sandisk SSD Tool, I get values for read performance of about 10MB/s! Same when I execute winsat on my machine - I get values of around 10 MB/s for random read. Strange enough, random write gives me MUCH more, about 200MB/s.

Does anyone have any idea why especially this value is so incredibly bad? Loading a music DAW project takes ages thanks to that…
