Hi. I’m trying to get my Extreme USB 3.0 64GB to boot off of a new HP 6300 Pro machine. I have tried both formats NTFS and extFAT (FAT32) to no avail. I can use the same boot formating tool (YUMI) on another thumbdrive 8GB and it works fine on the same machine. That rules out the machine and how the BIOS boots devices. Can anyone give some advice or help? Thanks so much. -Schwooba
Oh, it works fine otherwise…just the booting problem. Thanks.
Does YUMI support 64GB drives?
NTFS should boot fine, no idea about exFat.
Are you trying the USB drive in a USB 3.x port? Try a USB 2.x port. The USB 3.x port could be too fast for the booting process. I had problems booting USB 2.x drives in a new netbook with a USB 3.x port. But they booted fine in it’s USB 2.x ports.
Are you tried to make this USB bootable? Perhaps you need to do extra set up for a flash drive to be bootable.
“Perhaps you need to do extra set up for a flash drive to be bootable.”
Isn’t that what his YUMI app does?
