Hi all, hope someone can help , recently got new laptop running windows 7 pro however when i connect WDPASSPORT PORTABLE HARD DRIVE it dosnt see it and wont reconise it . it knows something is there but not sure what. I think it maybe driver related . Anyway my question is i cant find the drivers on the website the model no is WD2500XMS-00 does anyoneknow if there is a close model driver that may work in windows 7. Thankyou if you can help
That version of the passport, works with generic windows drivers… Make sure that your computer is up to date and also make sure that the USB drivers are updated on your computer…
Also you can check on the disk management to see how the drive is showing up.
Have you tried to restart the computer with the drive plug in?

Another thing, when you plug in the drive, are you able to hear the drive doing any type of noise?
