I purchased a 64 GB card for my Redmi Phone. As my phone memory was full (62 GB), I transferred about 25 GB Data to my SD Card using in- GB)
file transfer mechanism.
Few days later, the shopkeeper suggested me to buy a 128 GB card and he promised, he will transfer all the 25 GB data in my previous SD card (64GB) to my new card(128.GB).
But when he handed over me my 128 GB Card, it had only about 5 GB of Data. The 64 GB Card was formatted and hence nil data.
These files (mostly documents) were my life’s hardwork. Can’t we trace, where did it go ??
The good news is: there might still be a chance to recover your files, especially if the 64 GB SD card hasn’t been overwritten too much after formatting.
Stop using the 64 GB card right away. Don’t copy anything to it. Don’t reformat it again.
If possible, it’s highly recommended to create a disk image of the original SD card first, before running any recovery attempts. This way, your original data stays safe from further damage.
You can start by trying some free data recovery tools like DMDE, R-Photo, or UFS Explorer. But if they don’t work, a professional data recovery service would be the safest option—especially if the documents are really important to you.
Dear FEOYUNG,
Great advice. Will shortly be trying. Would let you know.

You should first follow the advice given by @fayewong — stop using the 64GB card, create a disk image if possible, and try free recovery tools like DMDE, R-Photo, or UFS Explorer.
Additionally, you can use Stellar Data Recovery Free Edition, which is good for recovering documents from formatted drives. It’s safer to scan the disk image instead of the card directly and always recover files to a different drive.
If recovery tools don’t work, consult a professional recovery service to avoid further damage.
