Computer No longer recognizes my external hard drive

I have disconnected and reconnected numerous times and cannot retrieve my information.  Took it to the store where I purchased it to have it tested and they confirmed it is dead.

I make backup discs on my computer monthly but the information from my book does not seem to be there for me to retrieve.  I had barely used any space on it and have had it for years.  I have much information on there I would like to recover.  How can I do this?

My Book External Hard Drive 250GB Essential Edition USB 2.0.

If the drive is not been recognize by any computer you might need to contact a data recovery company to recover the information and then contact WD for warranty replacement.
