I have a 320g WD My Book Essential hard drive.
I connected it to my Lap Top last week and an update screen came up, I attempted to update it, but after 3 hours nothing had happened. Now whenever I plug it into any of my 3 USB ports it doesn’t recognize it. It’s not under my computer and there is no “Eject External Drive” button in the bottom right hand corner of my desktop. But when I plug the drive in, my computer makes a noise indicating it has connected, but there is no way to access it.
I was wondering if there is a place I can find an update, or if something else may be wrong with my hard drive.
