clip+ stuck on settings menu

have had the clip+ for a few years now and all of a sudden when I hit the home key, it went to the settings menu instead of the music menu.  Now it won’t go anywhere else.  I have tried resetting it.  I have updated the firmware.  Anybody got any other ideas?

And pressing the up or down button to move between the Main Menu options doesn’t do anything?
