Clip seems to be stuck in menu "music" mode, and not select other menu items

Brand new to clip.  Just charged it and placed a small amount of music on it.

Player is stuck on Music menu item and can not select anything else.  Can not select a song or anything.  Tried resetting it to no avail.

Ready to declare this dead on arrival.

Got my sansa clip today and had the same problem. Don’t know if you’ve solved it yet - ridiculous!! All you need to do is peel off the protective mask over the screen and lo and behold you are not stuck on music any longer, Who’d have known!
