I am a photographer. I recently shot a wedding with my canon 6D.
all went well with the shoot. The problem started when I was transferring the images to my Mac book, using external adapter . This message came up “Card cannot be accessed Reinsert/change the card or format with camera”
I have data on this card and I cannot format it. Please assist with the urgent solution.
Hi @Luzuko
Have you opened a Support Case? If not opened, for more information, please contact the SD Technical Support team for best assistance and troubleshooting: https://kb.sandisk.com/app/ask
Did you notice any physical damage on the SD card? If not, make sure the physical switch on the side of the SD card is in the “unlocked” (up) position. Gently clean the SD card with a soft and dry cloth, then gently blow out any dust or debris in the camera’s card slot.
You are also suggested to check whether the card reader is working or not.
In addition, use Disk Utility to repair your SD card to make it readable on Mac again.
1. Click Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility.
2. Select your Canon SD card > click First Aid on the top and wait for the repair process to finish.
Do not format the card. Do not put it back in the camera again. Do not try random fixes.
Stop using it right away. First, try a different card reader and USB port, since adapters often fail. Check Disk Utility on your Mac to see if the card shows up, but do not click Erase. You can try First Aid once only.
Use Stellar Photo Recovery software; it works best for SD cards and will help you find all your photos and videos and fix the card. And, if it keeps disconnecting, stop and get professional help.
