Cannot read Hard Disk

Hi , my pc sometime cannot read my 2.5" WD 1TB external  Hard Disk drive. When I can read it, it cannot copy or move the file. It will hang. I am using window vista. I have change the cable and using another pc to access but problem still persists. I think the harddisk is dying. How can i access my file again so that i can copy them out before it dies.

Hello, you can try running a test with DLG. If it passes the test your data might be corrupted, with the help of a data recovery program you should be able to recover most of your files. If you dont need to recover your files, you can format the external hard drive to use it again. Check the link below for the steps.
