I have windows 10. I have had the My passport Ultra for awhile with no problems. This past week I decided to do a manual backup. I clicked on the WD Backup shortcut on my desk top and nothing happened. I tried to right click and open. Nothing. I went to the WD files and attempt to open. Nothing. I tried to do an administrator run off the shortcut. it did not fix the problem. I found an update and uploaded but still not opening. I did a scan. and it said that it was not compatible. It was compatible 2 weeks ago. Help please.
Were you able to directly access the drive through Windows Explorer (Computer)?
No. I can open utilities and security. But not the manager.
Is this a Passport Wireless or a Passport Ultra?
It is an Ultra. It was opening fine. I usually backup manually. But last week it just stopped opening up. The computer dors recognize the unit.
Are you saying your computer does recognize the drive? In other words, if you go to Computer, double click on the drive, are you able to view the files and folders on the drive?
Yes. That is correct. But the manager folder will not open for me to set up auto backup nor run back up manually
You may need to contact support for this. There could be issues I’m not aware of.
