Hi i have an old 1tb wdbpck0010bbk-01 wd elements . I has a usb 3 A port and is powered by the usb port. If I open the enclosure will the hdd inside be SATA compatible so that i could use it as an internal.
Hi, note that if you open the Elements it will void the warranty. This model has the USB-SATA bridge circuitry incorporated onto the drive’s own PCB, so it wont be compatible with an external enclosure.
