Now that I’ve unbricked my 4GB Clip, there appears to be some issue with the battery. When I turn it on, it displays no battery life. The System Info on the Clip shows 0% battery life. It’s playing fine and I have not received any low battery warnings. I’ve tried charging it on two PCs for a total of about 6 hours, and the battery bar is animated to show that it is charging, but the solid portion of the bar does not increase. When I disconnect it, it briefly shows the bar as about 1/3 full. It has the latest firmware, and I’ve tried both MSC and MTP modes. I’ve also tried reformatting the Clip both through the menu and through Windows, and have used the “reset” menu option. Any ideas on how to get the battery’s charge state to be properly recognized?
