Awesome Clip! What about a microsd card? Is it possible?

I own a 2Gb clip and I have never had any problems with it. My daughter has the 8Gb fuze and it is cool but nothing like the clip for many reasons.  Is it possible to make a clip with a expandable memory for an microsd card?  Of course it would be a new invention from sandisk, with such a small player and firmware just curious and shouting the idea if this is possible.

I doubt SanDisk will add the MicroSD card capability. Yah, it would be nice, but I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting.

The good news is you can get up to a 8 GB Clip these days. I think Walmart still carries it for under $70. or so.

…and I’ve heard talk of a possible 16 GB model.

I agree that a Clip with a microSD slot would be an uber-player!

Hear us Sandisk ^_^     We love our Clip !      I gave away my Fuze 8gb with ext 8gb microSD to family, it wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t used much.  It just wasn’t a Clip…    I’m on my 3rd clip,   2 gig, 4 gig, now a new 8gb.   Gave the 2 and 4 gig away as gifts, they are much loved.      The clip is perfect for taking with,  easy to use.    The more memory the better.     A microSD type slot for expansion,  or a higher capacity version every 6-12 months would be perfect.    I will never worry about a battery replacement,  with continuous upgrades ;)   The clip is great the way it is,   just keep it competitive.  Memory expansion.

Satisfied Sansa Clip owner :stuck_out_tongue:

It would be amazing…

If I could get an 8GB Clip, with a 16GB microsdhc, with 30 hour battery life…that would be ultimately awesome:smileyvery-happy:

(yeah, I know…not bloody likely, but I can dream)

Did you see the player Sandisk announced today? It has a card slot and a belt clip, however imo it is very disappointing. Of course it has a built in battery(UGH!) however it seems like it has very basic browsing ability, and  will be bundled with a card with 1,000 songs.

Sounds a bit too limiting for my taste. At least it will allow you to use your own SD cards though. But forget about the preloaded music cards, what a waste of time that would be. I still think the Clip is far superior. It looks a little bigger than the Clip as well. Sometimes bigger isn’t better.

For 1,000 songs to be on it…I wonder the capacity of the card, and the bitrate of the songs on it. The fact that it has a clip is good, and it will accept other microsdhc cards, cool, but how can it not have shuffle? Without being able to properly go through and choose what to play, you should be able to hit shuffle at least. I’m a little mystified at where they are going.

I wonder, if you used an OLED display like the Clip on the Fuze, eliminating the video, what kind of battery life could you get? I basicallly use both of my players the same way. If the album art shows up on the Fuze, it’s cool, but I don’t stress if it isn’t there. I want to hear my music and be able to see what it is that is playing, and be able to choose what plays. But hey, that’s just me. We all want different things from our players.

And replaceable battery… we must become green.Greetings!
