Is anyone aware of an alternative to SMC out there? Something open, and unintrusive? I use Handbrake for most of my video conversion.
I would prefer not to install the Sandisk auto updater, which I only require to download SMC, then SMC which seems to be some sort of a plug-in for WMP. Has anyone looked at the video format enough to understand what SMC is doing? Is it proprietary? I purchased the Fuze because I thought it was reasonably open, and didn’t want to be locked into Apple’s software.
