My 1 TB WD Passport External Hard Drive data has been accidentally formatted. Please suggest me how to recover my data with logical partitions, now all logical partitions are also deleted and only 1 fully empty drive with 931 GB is visible…
To attempt data recovery you’ll need to buy another 1TB HDD to recover the data too.
I’ve successfully recovered data from a fully formatted HDD using Get Data Back For NTFS software.
But, be aware the recovery process can take a very long time and you need another hdd to recover the data too.
I tried my best to recover but couldn’t succeed according to your suggestion for using Get Data Back For NTFS Software…Can you suggest me any other effective measures??
last resort is a Data Recovery Service … but be prepared (take a seat) when they give you the quote $$$$
First, do not copy new files, create new partitions, or run command prompts like chkdsk on the 931 GB drive. Writing new data will overwrite the invisible data and cause permanent loss.
Then, you will need to prepare another storage drive with at least 1 TB of free space.
Download a reputable hard drive recovery tool to your computer’s internal drive (never onto the external WD drive). Connect your WD Passport and run the software to scan the 931 GB drive. Once the scan finishes, look through the results. Most tools will sort files by type and reconstruct the original folder trees. Select your files and click Recover. Set the target save location to your secondary drive (do not save files to your WD drive). Also read: How to Recover Lost/Deleted NTFS Partitions on Windows
