my 8gb micro sdhc is not registering on my computer when I put it in the adpater on the sandisk reader?
How old is your computer? Maybe it needs an update to be able to read the SDHC format.

Did you verify that the reader on your laptop is SDHC compatible? It is hard to tell from your description, I read it that you have two readers, one of which you do not like.
