Won't safely eject My Passport from my computer

Hi,
I have a My Passport 4 TB. Every time I try to safely eject it from my computer, I get a message saying that it cannot be stopped and that there are files still open on it. I cannot find any files that are open. I downloaded software to find hidden files and it came up with the following files that are still running and are preventing My external hard drive from closing:

e:$Extend$RmMetadata$Txf-$130:INDEX_ALLOCATION
e:\Extend/$RmMetadata$TxfLogContainer000000…
and a couple other e:\ files like this

I have no idea what these files are how to find them.

I have also tried uninstalling my antivirus software and even unchecking the box on Properties where it says “allow files in this drive to have contents indexed in addition to file properities.” None of this has worked.

The only way that I can safely eject it is if I restart my computer.

Any advice?

Try this:

  1. Open My Computer.
  2. Right Click on your External HD.
  3. Go to Properties.
  4. In the General Tab.
  5. UNCHECK “Allow files on this drive to have contents indexed in addition to file properties”.
  6. Click Apply. …
  7. Click Ok.
  8. Done.

No such option in windows 10 home.

I’m having the same problem, My Passport 2TB, cannot eject. I have to shut down the computer. When my drive is completely disconnected there are 4 WD processes that show CPU activity. Not sure how that can be. Any help is appreciated.
