Which SD card is best for Nintendo Switch?

I bought a 512 GB SD card in red & gray. Is it suitable for a Switch? Or should I buy the red and gold card instead of the gray? Thanks for any advice!

Thanks! I will read these articles.

The Switch use the micro SD card up to 2TB

The Switch 2 uses micro SD express cards up to 2TB

I decided to change my 128G SD card (an unknown brand) to my SanDisk 521G SD card. But only when I formatted the old SD card did I realize I forgot to save my screenshots. It took me all day yesterday to find a guide to recover my Switch screenshots from the old formatted SD card. Just a reminder to anyone thinking of switching to a bigger memory card like I did, don’t forget to back up your old memory card if you don’t want to lose your data.

If you have a laptop, use more than one card and get a USB card reader so you can copy images etc from it

A USB enclosure with a hard disk can be used to backup images from cords

SanDisk Ultra or Samsung Evo are the best ones to use. (Sometimes the SanDisk Extreme is on sale for cheaper than the Ultra, but it’s overkill because the Switch can’t read above the Ultra’s speeds, so no point in buying it except in that scenario.) I personally use SanDisk Ultras for everything I own that requires an SD card.

You can use a 1TB card, but be cautious of fakes - almost every fake card people post about here is (supposed to be) a 1TB card. If the price is too good to be true, it is. Don’t buy from Walmart’s website, it’s riddled with fakes. Shipped and sold by Amazon is best, or go to an in-person store.

I agree that counterfeit 1TB cards are a plague. It seems that some unscrupulous people have been busy as 1/3 of Sandisk cards have been identified as counterfeited.

I agree, SanDisk Ultra and Samsung Evo are great for the Switch. SanDisk Extreme is overkill unless it’s on sale.
