When saving pictures into wd wireless their size is decreased

i am doing photo editing
opening NEF file from my wireless pro drive into photoshop
when i save in JPEg the file size decreases from 16 M to 1!
Please advise

Maybe I’m missing something.

NEF files are “Raw.” Uncompressed.
JPG files are Compressed (and the compression is lossy.)

It’s not the drive that’s doing it, it’s you. :wink:
