When I use my 2 TB MyBook external HDD windows explorer crashes

Whenever I try to access my external HDD (MyBook 2TB) Windows Explorer just crashes and restarts. I can’t do anything anymore on the external HDD because this happens as soon as I browse into the external HDD.

I use Windows 7.

My computer is a Vostro 220 Duo core.

2 GB RAM and 32-bit system.
