CHKDSK fails to fix my external hard drive, and I’m looking for other diagnostic tools that might help. Are there any reliable tools I can use to check the health of the drive or attempt repairs? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! 
You should start with what’s wrong with your drive?
What chkdsk command switches did you use?
What was the error message returned when chkdsk failed?
I would backup everything on the drive before proceeding further.
