I’ve installed WD Sync at my workplace on two computers, one inside and one outside our firewall. In both cases the installation went flawlessly and I could see that a share/folder was created on my NAS (EX4100). That’s where the fun stopped. When I right-click on the WD Sync taskbar icon it reports that there is no internet connection. Obviously, nothing I put into my sync folder is actually getting synced if the software doesn’t believe it’s connected to the internet.
Hi, are you experiencing the issue on both inside and outside of the firewall? Is there a way you can create an exception on the firewall for the application? Is the drive on the same network as the app?
Yes, both inside and outside our firewall from work. No, the EX4100 is on
my home network. I can reach it through mycloud.com and the desktop app,
just not WD Sync, which reports as being not connected to the internet.
Clearly, though, the computer is on the internet.
