I have an external My Passport for Mac. When I open the WD Utilities and WD Security downloads I click install asks for my password, but won’t accept it. The popup reads “installation unable to complete.”

You can install WD Drive Utilities and WD Security using WD Discovery. Once WD Discovery is installed click on the apps tab and select the software that you want to install. Here is the link to download WD Discovery:
