Does anyone know if video streaming still works with the iOS 8 update? I was planning on buying one of these drives but can’t see any where if the streaming still works or not. Seagat and Kingston are both stating that the Wifi streaming is down since the update so I wasn’t sure.

I’ve not noticed any issues with iOS 8 as far as streaming is concerned…
I just purchase one of these and I cannot get it to work. The MyCloud app doesn’t even recognize or find the drive even though I’m connected to it’s wifi signal. This is from an iPhone 6Plus running ios 8.0.2
I think I’m going to have to return it. I doesn’t work and I cannot find any info or support whatsoever on this issue other than what the OP indicated… the other wireless drives are having issues too.
I played 3 different movies at the same time without any problem, 1 to Iphone 6+ and 1 to iPad Air, both on iOS 8.0.2 and the 3rd to computer running 10.9.5.
No issues streaming from MPW and iOS 8.0.2 on iPhone or iPad. There never was an issue with the MPW with Apple’s new OS, but Seagate had some which they fixed in a day or so. Both my MPW and Seagate wireless drives work OK with Apple’s latest.

Before you return it, let’s see if one of us can help you get it working. First of all, what do you mean by “getting it to work?”, for example, have you connected it to a computer and copied some media to it? Did this work? There is some sample media on it – did you get that to work? Can you connect to the My Passport wireless signal with your mobile device, or computer? Ca you get the My Cloud app to work for you?
If you are close to your computer and other devices with the MPW, that could mess up the wireless signal, so get 20+ feet away from any of these things and try to connect to the MPW signal.
Let us know how this goes, and we can go from there.
The issue with streaming is related to itunes drm protected files and appears to affect ALL wifi drives currently. Previously, drm files were passed over to safari and played in the safari video player (provided the device was authorised to do so i.e. was set up with the same account that purchased the movie. This handover still occurs but the file refuses to play. WD are aware of this as they contacted me several times and I’ve sent them several examples. Some say this bug was introduced before IOS 8 but I have a an ios 7.x iphone 4s and that works just fine, its my ios8 devices that refuse to play the drm file. Streaming of non-protected videos is working just fine on all my devices.
