WD Passport - trouble opening saved documents

I just purchased the WD My Passport Ultra due to my laptop getting auto-installed with Windows 10 and my old Seagate Free Agent no longer was supported. It seemed simple, plugged the little guy in and went through the prompts and performed the first backup. It took about 2 hours…then I had to find where my files were located. I thought the computer name would pop up, but I had to click on “WD Backup.swstor”, then my computer name, then a weird file name “NGRjZTViODkOYTI3NDZjmj”, then “History”, then another long weird file name “Volume…”, then “Users”, then my computer name…and my files finally show up. There’s has to be a better way to do this right? Even more troubling is that all the files seemed to be doubled up and nothing opens up correctly. I get the “How do you want to open this file?” box and even if I click on Adobe for PDF files or Word for Word documents, nothing opens up correctly. I’m guessing this is user error, but I can’t figure it out. Any idea? Thanks much.

Hello,

You can also just copy and paste the files into the external drive. Take a look at this link.
