What is/where is PC encryption software other than through XP?
If you have a recent Passport Studio like I do, those that are silver with a black top, you can’t encrypt them on Windows with WD software as it’s Mac-only.
The older Passport Studio with a label in the front DOES allow you to encrypt on Windows.

If you have a smartware drive, then you need smartware to set the password for the drive. if you wiped out smartware, then you can go to support downloads and download smartware from there.
