I have this 4 month old wd passport 500 gb. I went to my friend’s house with it and when i plugged it in over there it is not powering up. That is, the disk isn’t even spinning, and the indicator light is not glowing.

If the drive is working on your pc, but not his, you’ll probably need a power booster cable. Also, is his computer the same kind of computer, pc vs. mac?
