Hi, I have WD Passport 500gb external hard drive. I have, music, video, photos on it. When I plug it in to the computer it will not show up. The light is coming on on the unit and the drive seems to whizz for a while as if it wants to load, but nothing is happening. I really need to get this going, can anyone help please?

Have you check on the disk management? let me know what it says about the drive

To get to the disk management right click on my computer and click on manage. It should be listed to the left side.

Hi, I plug it in the light is on, on thInuit but it does notshow up up pn the computer. It makes a whizing sound as if the drive is trying to activate but nothing is happening. All that shows in disk management is;-

Disc-Simple Basic.               Healthy(EISA Configuration)

Disc-OS(C:).                         Healthy(System,Boot,Page File,Active,Crash Dump,Primary)

Disc-Recovery (E).                Healthy (Primary Partition)

This is all that is showing. I hope that is enough information? I really need to get this sorted as I have lots of photos and music stored on it.
