I have a Mybook that comes pre-formatted for Mac, however I needed a 250gb partition on it for Windows storage as well. I used Disk Utility on Mac OSX to create the partition and format it as NTFS. Everything worked fine and the drive is recognised on Mac. However, when I plugged the drive into Windows, it isn’t properly recognised as a drive. When I looked at it in Disk Manager, it is just a TB of unallocated space.
I attempted running the WD Smartware software, but it said that no Writable WD Smartware partition was found!
I have no idea what to do, as I need the drive to work in a few hours.
