Hello, As others …my external hard drive is not showing up on my computer. I have connected it to my PC and laptop it is still not showing up. Light is on, do not get a spinning sound, but do get an intermittent clicking sound. I checked the cable and it does work on my WD Ultra without a problem. Used my WD Ultra cable and still nothing. Any ideas? Help!
If it’s not spinning but you hear clicking instead, I suspect your drive has failed.
Was it dropped or subjected to a mechanical shock?
