WD my passport is extremely lag and slow

Hi all. I have a 1 TB my passport. It worked fine for a whole year since i bought it. But in all sudden, it has become extremely slow and lag. I need 3-4 minutes just for my pc to detect the hardrive. Another minute just for getting into the hardrive with windows explorer. Another minute just to open one folder and the explorer indicates that i need 3 hours just for copying a 500mb data since the speed becomes >200 Kbps

I seriously need help. I have importatnt data of 800mb inside of it. I need the data to be retrieved or the hard drive to be fixed.

You could try several things:

  • Test your drive in a different USB port

  • Change the USB cable

  • Backup your data and format your drive

If this does not solve the problem, you might need to replace the unit.
