I purchased my passport in Juin 2011. I copy all my data in a day, almost 900gb in it and found no problems at all. Since that time I rarelly connect my passport on my pc but had no problems. Today I just format my pc and when I want to copy my data from my passport it is extremely slow , 20kb/s ?? , even pictures can’t copy. Worst, when I plug in on my computer it detect about 1-2mins after. It read VERY SLOW, I just want to open a file had to wait about 2mins. (just before that it runs well I plug it to 2-3times on my laptop and my pc to copy small data and it runs very well. After 2-3 times the problem appeared) I really want my data on my computer. I dont want to format because I need to copy all my data from my passport and dont have backups :(( I really dont know what to do… I really need some help, tks in advance!
What OS are you using and does the drive show in Disk Management? If so does it say anything like Raw down where the bars are shown?

Hi Joe, sorry for late reply. I’m using Windows 7 Ultimate (laptop) and 7 Professional (PC). Same detect speed or transfer for both of them even just a little faster on laptop (usb 3.0) but still very very slow.
Yes the drive is shown on Disk Management. Hmm I don’t really know but it shown blue bars (Healthy (Primary Partition))
like the other disks though…
My WD Passport is just very very slow, it’s unbelievable(it’s just happened instantly, maybe because I change from laptop/pc 2-3times?). I try to check the disk but it took sooo long. Maybe it’s dying I don’t know (strange) 
Really hope there is a solution to take my data, it’s very important (900gb though ouch)
I have sent email to western digital last week asking why my acct was considered as seller. I bought this no good HD from COSTCO how in the **bleep** it become a reseller? I tried to get an RMA so I can get a replacement of this no good for nothing My Passport 1T HD but die to my acct as reseller I could not get the RMA, this is their requisite in other for your HD to be replaced. Until now I get no reply to a simple question how much more for your problem with no good HD from western digital. FORGET IT FOLKS. JUST DON’T BUY AGAIN ANY WESTERN DIGITAL PERIOD.
