Hi,
I connected my WD 1TB portable hard disk on my friend’s desktop and got power surge error.
After that my hard disk is not being detected by any PC.
When i connect hd, the power LED blinks and remains ON, also spinning sound is there, but im unable to see hd in Disk Management.
Please help.
Please help. I dont wanna loose my data.
yo tengo el mismo problema si encuentras la solucion te agradeceria si m puedes ayudar ya q no puedo acceder al contenido del disco y no m gustaria perder la informacion q tengo en el ya q es muy importante de ante mano muchas gracias…
something similar happened to my 1TB tonight…Does not register under my F drive but under device manager it shows Location 0…any help would be greatly appreciated!!
I drilled down the whole internet. But no solution for this issue.
I opened the case of my HD, to my surprise there was no SATA power or data slot from which i can connect my HD to other PC directly. WD is smart enough to put some 12 pin connector and 2 pin jumper rather than SATA connectivity.
When you contact WD they give you RMA only, RMA won’t return your precious data.
I guess I have to give my HD to some pro in my locality to recover data.
I wont buy WD in future and suggest others not to buy either.
WD…U **bleep**…
Hi Guys,
I did some troubleshooting myself.
As my device is not making any noises, problem doesnt seems of spindle motor and R/W head.
I opened my PCB and no burnt mark was present, so I assume PCB is intact.
The last suspect is firmware. Please suggest anyone.
