I have used my WD external hard drive to watch movies on my Blu Ray player. However, I had to reformat it to allow for larger files to be transferred. I kept the NTFS the same and only changed the unit size to 64 kilobytes (the hightest setting). Now when I connect it to my Blu Ray player it is saying that it is unrecognizable. What is causing this?
Hi, I guess you mean 64 GB? If the blu ray player only supports FAT32 formatted hard drives, NTFS wont work.
I figured my blu ray isn’t reading a FAT32, but when I first used my External Hard drive with my blu ray the default for the HD was a NTFS. It wasn’t until I tried to reformat it to have a higher unit allocation that it stopped working. Is there anyway to return my HD to the original factory settings? Also, when I reformatted my HD the Westing Digitial (WD) icon for my external disappered. What does that mean?
