WD Elements WD7500E035-00 missing power supply

Hi there,

I have an OLD WD Elements portable drive that is missing its power supply. The plastic on the end is stamped “12VDC” but it doesn’t mention the amperage and there’s no UL sticker.

Anyone know where I can get a replacement, or at least tell me what the power requirements are, so I can jury rig something for it?

Thanks!

Portable USB Drives don’t have external power supplies.

They are powered by the USB connection on a device eg. PC, Laptop, Set top Box, Media Player, Smart TV etc

If you mean you have an OLD WD Elements Desktop drive then they require an external power supply.

The power supply for the WD Elements Desktop drive is 12 Volts / 1.5 Amps / 18 Watts

Thank you! I think I read on an Amazon ad or Ebay ad that it was the “portable” but I have no original documentation, and it doesn’t say anything on the case at all.
It does have the external power supply, and it’s as heavy as a boat anchor, so… yeah, probably the desktop model!
Now that I know the amp draw I can find a plug that fits and get a power supply that’ll make do to get the photo albums off the ■■■■ thing.

Thanks again, Joey- really, really appreciate it!
