WD Elements Cannot be read

Hi,

I saw some discussion on this forum about the above subject but not really a solution to fix the problem…

I have a WD Elements, 1 Tb that I bought in an IT shop in Papua New Guinea about 10 days ago. It worked good on the first week then suddenly is not detected as a folder when I plugged into my laptop. Although, I can see that as a hardware, as it goes on/off when I plug/pull the device.

My questions are:

  1. How to fix the problem to make the device opened again as a folder. Thus, I can retrieve my files.
  2. If 1 is not possible, is there a way to retrieve my files?

Hi,

Is the drive showing under disk management? If yes, how is the unit showing?

This is how it looks like on disk management. If no other helpful information, I will have my disk formatted or replaced by the IT shop. That means, I just lost all the information that I had, but I don’t have any choice. Its on Disk 2
