WD Elements 4TB makes "Boing" or bouncy spring sound!?

Hey gang-

I have a two month old WD Elements 4TB external drive. Periodically it makes a noise that I can only describe as like “boing” or “boyng” or something like that. Like a sound effect they might use for a small spring hopping around the room. But it only happens once each time. I don’t know if it’s waking from sleep, or going to sleep, or failing, or something else altogether. Any ideas?
