Hi there!

I have recently purchased a My Passport AV-TV HDD for use with my LG 40UB800V TV. We followed the (minimal) instructions to hook up the bracket and plugged it in. The TV recognises that a USB device has been connected but when we try to pause TV or record something it simply comes up with the message “This USB storage device is unsuitable for recording”

After doing some searching, I decided to format the HDD in FAT32 (on Mac) but this has still not solved the problem. The HDD is plugged in to the HDD in port on the back of the TV. If we move the USB either of the other USB ports, the same thing occurs.

The HDD is recognised and useable when I plug it in to my MacBook.

Would appreciate a little help please!

I haven’t seen this case before.

Have you tried reformatting the drive on different computer? Perhaps, a windows computer.
