TV doesn't recognise My Passport

I’ve got a new 2TB My Passport & am trying to plug it into my TV to watch some movies but the TV says USB is disconnected. The drive works fine on my laptop. I’ve reformatted to exFAT but it hasn’t made any difference. Can someone please help me out?
I don’t know how to reformat to FAT32. Would it help if I could do that & if so, how do I do that?
Other USBs work in the TV

Hi Wizzwang,

Well you can reformat the drive in FAT32 however doing that will reduce the total capacity of your My Passport to 32 GB (approx.). In this case, may be you should check the USB port of the TV by connecting any other USB drive to it.

hi Peter. The usb on the tv works fine with other devices & the paper works
fine in my laptop and another computer.

i’ve posted numerous times (search my posts) … some TV’s only support MBR Partition Style … New WD Passports are Partitioned GPT (GUID) Partition Style

Advice to try: Format exFAT with MBR Partition Style (MBR Supports a Max of 2TB)

try that and see how you go.

I tried exFAT. Didn’t work. Maybe I just need a newer tv?

did you try MBR Partitioning as well ? as i suggested ?
