I’m trying to delete files from my WD 1TB Passport. I backed up a friend’s hard drive and now I need to get rid of the files.
My Passport has always run kinda slow but when I tried to delete the entire backup folder, the Passport couldn’t handle it and ejected itself from my Mac.
I started deleting files just a few folders at a time. It seems that it can’t handle deleting large folders all at once. I’m down to just two large folders left to delete. I don’t know how big they are since it won’t load the file size display.
If I try to just open one of the folders, it just works at it for 20 minutes and then ejects itself. I can’t copy the folder, move it to my computer, open the folder, or delete it.
I want to open the folder so that I can delete the contents little bits at a time. Does anyone know what is wrong with my Passport and how to fix it. I just want to delete the folder so any tips on how to do that or get the folder to open would be so helpful.
