Viewing files in a backup

I have set up my 4TB device, with 2 users, and both of us have completed a full backup.  So far, so good.

How would I view the individual files is a backup set, stored on the WD device?  I’m trying to do failsafe testing to ensure the incremental back up is behaving as I consider it should.  Obviously, I can just rely on the file count increasing as I create new files, but I’d rather do something more robust.

When you go to the retrieve section on the SmartWare Software and you will see an option to retrieve some files, when you go to that section you can browse through the backup an see all the different files that have been backed up by the software that way you can see if the backup has been correctly done. You can also go to the “WD SmartWare.swstor” folder that is located on the destination drive and manually browser through the files and make sure everything is backed up.

I have decided in the end to clear down another decent sized USB drive and retrieve files to there, where I can do a count up and sense check.  I’m hoping it works.
