Hi
I have just added a second 4Tb drive, Win 10 doesn’t recognise it in explorer.
the second drive does work when I disconnect the first drive.
I understand there is a clash when 2 drives are of the same size and make.
any hints on solving this please?
thanks
See if this works on Windows 10 http://community.wdc.com/t5/My-Passport-for-PC/Copy-files-from-one-drive-to-another/m-p/277504/highlight/false#M7587

I suspect you have the same problem I do - they both have the same Volume Serial Number. While there are instructions on the internet about how to change this using the utility named volumeid, this program does not seem to work with the 4TB drive. I have just now posted my problem and hope someone has the answer.
Both have Volume Serial Number CA0A-BC13. Because of the way Windows is written, drives must have unique Volume Serial Numbers in order to function properly.
Hi, in fact i found the answer, and if you know where to go it’s easy and quite quick.
I’m travelling at the moment, so dont remember everything… but
windows 10 — gonto settings and device manager… sonewhere down the bottom if the list if options is one option which scans all active drives… give is a minute or so to search and list the drives … my 2nd 4tb drive was listed with a ‘!’ … it was one click to fix.
now all drives work
