The parameter is incorrect error

Can someone help me? I plugged my Passport 1 TB external drive into my USB, it shows up in the File Explorer as Local Disk (D:), it shows up in the Device Manager as WD SES Device USB Device. But when I try to access my files that are on there, I get this message:

D:\ is not accessible
The parameter is incorrect.
