Testing EXT4 formatted Element Drive on OSX

I dropped my Elements drive on a stone floor - it was switched off at the time. It appears to still back up my Synology drive OK but I am not sure. It is formatted to EXT-4. How can I test it thoroughly on a MAC? The WD Lifeguard software only runs on a PC. Many thanks

dunno, give WD Drive Utilities for Mac a try … (personally, if the drive fell on a stone floor and still appears to work afterwards, backup everything and don’t trust it)

Thanks for your help. the WD drive passed the Quick Drive Test fine. The Complete Drive Test keeps stalling after a few minutes. Do you think that means the drive has some serious errors or have I not set up the test correctly? Puzzled that it passed teh Quick Test without any problems. Many thanks

considering you dropped the drive … then most possibly

a quick test is just that … quick

think of it like running a quick virus check … that finds nothing suspicious, but when running a full virus check … deeply embedded viruses are found.
