SSD WD GREEN problem with firmware update

Hi, I’ve recently been having problems with my WD Green SSD. The main issues are performance; the read and write speeds are much lower than what an SSD should be. I haven’t used it much, and it’s practically brand new.

I think the problem might be due to outdated firmware. The thing is, when I try to update the firmware using the Dashboard application, my drive isn’t detected.

I’ve already tried different cables that I know work with another drive I use, but nothing changes. I’m really desperate and need some help.

My SSD is a model WDS480G2G0A

There are few tips to fix this:

Download latest WD dashboard and try to update firmware from there.

Run Dashboard as an Administrator.

Stop Antivirus

Connect with SATA and chage Bios setting to AHCI.

If this is not working then may be corruption with previous firmware, try to rollback.
